BZ timer...

Has anybody had their timer repaired? Our BZ timer needs to be overhauled, including the hand, which it doesn't have. I'm looking for names and telephone #s. Prices too if ya got em'. Thanks...Pete

It's not a cheap repair (cost me about $80, I think), but I figure it's good for the rest of my life now, so it was probably worth it. I look at all repairs on these stoves as "only have to do it once" and that helps soften the blow....

Hi Pete;
A friend of mine took my non-functioning BZ timer home, cleaned it up, and now it works just fine. Can't tell you exactly what he did, but I don't think it was very hard. Although this doesn't help with your missing hand problem.

Look at my photos on flicker. Cleaned my timer with an aerosol product.

Thanks Ron! It was that easy, huh? Didn't have to take anything apart? I've got a case of brake cleaner out in the garage now...I'll give it a try in the AM! Pete

I too thought my timer was malfunctioning. I cleaned it up and it still wouldn't work. Then I noticed in the manual that you should turn the dial at least half a turn and then set your time on it. Works like a charm now! Of course, I am blond so maybe I'm the only one who didn't know this... lol. Hope this helps someone!

Worked for me - just flushed the unit. Years of dust I guess.

Maybe I just got lucky!
